Public Procurement Agency was the second-place winner of the 2010 United Nations Public Services Award in the category of ‘Improving transparency, accountability and responsiveness in the Public Service", because of the results achieved by the implementation of the eProcurement system.

ALBANIA 2009 PROGRESS REPORT OF THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES PUBLIC PROCUREMENT
There has been some progress in the area of public procurement. Legislation was approved in January 2009 introducing the obligation for contracting authorities to use electronic procurement. Contracting authorities have also to publish all procurement notices and tender dossiers on the website of the Public Procurement Agency (PPA).
